Wondering how to use a standing desk?
How to use a standing desk.
Working standing up is like adapting any other habit; it takes time to get used to it, might be tyring or difficult at the beginning but after 21 days (the time you take to make a repeated activity a habit) you will master it!
Professionals recommend a ratio of 2:1 (70% sitting, 30% standing) during the first 5 days. As days go by, you will start feeling more comfortable standing up. At that point you can start changing the ratio to 1:1 (50% sitting, 50% standing) as this will give you the perfect health balance, increase your mood and energy level throughout your work day.
Remember that the key is to use your standing desk and remain standing as long as you feel comfortable and you don’t hurt or force yourself.
How to adjust your standing desk.
The computer screen must be at eye level. Adjust the screen shelf into the slots creating a 90 degree angle with the screen and your sight.
Note that your eyes should be 20 – 28 inches away from the monitor screen which should be at a 20-degree tilt.
It doesn’t matter if you are working in a standing or sitting position, your laptop must be at eye-level at all times!
The shelf where you will place your keyboard and mouse should be at, or slightly below, your elbow height. Create a 90 degree angle with your arms when placing your hands on the keyboard.
